Our Privacy Statement for HIC websites – HIC is committed to the online privacy of all its users.
Information We Collect – Name, address and postcode – without this we won’t know where to send our booking form or to whom.. Age / date of birth – we may need to collect your age or date of birth in order to be able to sell you certain products, such as alcohol. Email address – we send a confirmation of your booking via email. Telephone numbers – if there are any problems with your booking or we need to check anything, we need to be able to contact you quickly. Payment card number, expiry date, issue no and name of card holder – when you make a booking or use a service we need these details so we can collect payment in the same way as when we take payment in the bar via chip and pin. Correspondence – if you contact us we may keep a record of that correspondence. You may also provide us with personal information if you contact the main office, if you enter raffles run by us or if you get in touch with us in some other way, for example by way of an email facility provided on the website.

Please take time to read these terms and conditions carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. By accessing this site and/ or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1. Hire of Facilities
1.1 We aim to show our facilities as accurately as possible, but occasionally we make mistakes. If there is anything which is unclear, or if you wish to obtain further information, please contact the by emailing us or call (+44) (0)20 8885 3490 between 10am and 5pm (GMT), Monday to Friday.
1.2 All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable (where applicable). We make every effort to ensure that prices shown are accurate when you place your order. In the case of lettings of facilities a refundable bond of £300 is chargeable and held against cancellations of date, damage to premises, over running the letting or leaving the premises in an unsatisfactory condition. Upon receipt of a satisfactory report from the Duty Officer a deposit will be refunded to the hirer by cheque from the Irish Centre.
2. Cancellation – If you do cancel, the whole of your bond paid will be retained by the Irish Centre. An amount of the hire charge will also be forfeited; depending on how much notice is given. / 4 – 9 weeks – 50% retained Under 4 weeks – 100% retained
3. Eligibility & Availability / Eligibility to Hire
3.1 We reserve the right not to accept your order for any reason.
4. Payments – our acceptance of your order and how the contract between us is formed
4.1 We only accept payment in Pound Sterling and by credit or debit card..
4.2 The contract between us for the hire of facilities will only be formed when we write or email you to confirm that the letting has been accepted.
4.3 Payment will be debited from your account upon submission of the booking form.
4.4 All refund payments will be paid to you in Pound Sterling.

Complaints Code of Practice
The organisation aims to provide its members and users with the best possible service. However, we recognise that from time to time there may be occasions when people feel that the quality or level of service provided falls short of what they can reasonably expect. Your continued support and good will is greatly valued by us and therefore if you have a complaint to make, we would like you to tell us about it.
This Complaints Procedure does not affect any statutory rights. You may wish to take legal action against the Centre or any individual associated with it in certain circumstances.
We welcome, not only your complaints but your ideas and suggestions for improving our services.
We will always endeavor to resolve difficulties informally, but in some circumstances, you may wish to make a formal complaint.
Any complaint you make, whether it is formal or informal will be treated with complete confidentiality.
This is what you should do:
The complaint should be made in person or by someone else on your behalf (e.g a friend or advocate). You can contact us by telephone or in writing, for the attention of the Centre Manager. The Manager will acknowledge your complaint, as soon as it is practically possible, but you will receive a written acknowledgement within 14 working days of receipt.
This is what we will do:
- The Manager, in consultation with the Chair or Secretary of the Management Committee shall undertake to investigate the circumstances leading to the complaint.
- A decision will be made by the Manager as soon as possible after the receipt of the complaint, but within 6 weeks of the date of receipt of the complaint. If there is likely to be a delay caused by the absence of a person against whom the complaint is made, or any person who is necessary to the process, through serious illness or other unavoidable causes, the Manager will inform you.
- If the complaint involves either the Manager or the Chair, the details will immediately be passed on to the Secretary and one other named person from the Committee for investigation.
- Investigation will result in one or more of the following:
- Informal resolution
- Use of the internal disciplinary procedure. The complainant will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible
- The Manager will communicate the outcome of the investigation within 7 days of the completion of the investigation; except when the internal disciplinary is being used, in which case the outcome will be notified 7 days after the disciplinary.
- A record will be kept of all complaints and will be monitored annually by the Committee.
Making an appeal:
- If the complainant disagrees with the decision, they or their representative may appeal to the Chair or Secretary of the Committee within 14 working days of being informed of the decision, explaining why the think it is unjust.
- A panel comprised of two members of the Committee (who are not the same as those involved previously) and one independent person will investigate the complaint within 14 working days.
- You will be informed of the outcome of the appeal investigation within 7 working days.
